Bulky Household Waste Collections
Brentwood Borough Council provides a collection service for old, unusable items of furniture and domestic appliances such as fridges and freezers.
To arrange for a bulky household waste collection you can either complete the Bulky Household Waste Collection Form online or telephone the Council on 01277 312500.
From 1 April 2013 the charges are £10.00 per item with a minimum charge of £20.00.
If you have booked and paid for a collection by Monday, your bulky household waste item(s) will be collected on the Thursday of that week. Otherwise they will be collected on the following Thursday. Please note collections may be delayed when there is a public holiday.
All items can be only collected from a visible location outside the property and must be put out by 7.30am.
We are unable to collect the following items:
- Garden sheds
- Garden Waste
- Storage Heaters
- Construction and Trade Waste
Civic Amenity/Recycling Centres will also accept your bulky items free of charge. For further information contact: Essex County Council's Waste Helpline on 0845 603 7625.
They are a Social Enterprise and Registered Charity that provides good quality furniture and household items to those on low incomes. They are able to do this by receiving and collecting furniture and other items generously given by local people.
Assisted Household Refuse Collections
All bagged household waste must only be placed out for collection on the designated collection day and left on the kerbside at the front of the property or we will assume you do not need a collection.
Residents who are unable to comply, can apply for an assisted service. The criteria for claiming is as follows: Housebound and/or Elderly or infirm which prevents you from placing your refuse and recyclables on the kerbside and there is no other able bodied person living at home with you. Please telephone 01277 312500.
The Council no longer operates a clinical waste collection service.
For information on disposing of hazardous substances, please call the Essex County Council Hazardous Substances line on 0845 6037625 or contact your local GP for advice on how to safely dispose of clinical waste.
