Active Brentwood Fund LogoActivebrentwood's Small Grants Scheme 'Funding the Community' is available to people living in the Borough who require some financial help towards their chosen sport or physical activity. The panel will look favourably on player pathway development, playing sport to enhance the quality of an individuals life or to provide more opportunities in the community including volunteering.

The panel will also consider grants or loan requests from local clubs.

The Criteria:

  • Must live or if a club/organisation be based in the Borough of Brentwood.
  • Must help with the development of sport, or health and well-being or to enhance volunteering and community opportunities with a health/sport focus.
  • Demonstrate a need for the funding
  • Can only apply once in one financial year

Bowls at King George Playing FieldsThings it doesn't cover:

  • On-going costs; ie running costs
  • Repeat funding for the same project
  • Funding for the same organisation in the same financial year
  • Cost of routine maintenance and repairs
  • Statutory requirements/activities
  • Hospitality (food and drink)

There is no set limit to the amount, however small grants up to £500 are encouraged. Clubs and organisations can apply for amounts up to £1000.

Activebrentwood Sports Awards

This year we recognised our local sporting champions, whether they are successful athletes or motivational coaches, or volunteers that clubs cant do with out.

The Winners for 2012 Brentwood Sports Awards are:

  • Joe Harris - Sports Personality of the Year
  • Evangeline Collier - Young Sports Personality of the Year
  • Janet Hay - Coach of the Year
  • Stones Athletics Youth FC - Club of the Year
  • Allanah Allnut - Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Heather Spinks - Unsung Hero
  • The Activebrentwood Award - Recoil Trampoline Club
