Papworth Trust
A home improvement agency has been established in partnership with Papworth Trust. The service will assist elderly and/or disabled home owners to improve, repair or adapt their houses. The main assistance available is:
Grants
Repayable means-tested grants are available for necessary repairs to homes to allow the elderly to remain staying-put in their own homes. Papworth can give advice and facilitate the works for qualifying residents. If you wish to discuss your personal needs, then please ring 01277 225352. The common type of work qualifying for assistance is leaking roofs, rotten windows etc.
Brentwood Gardening Project
Papworth offer a gardening service for older and disabled people in the Borough who are unable to cope with keeping their garden manageable. This is a subsidised scheme for those on benefits or low income. Please call 01277 225352 for more information.
Brentwood Small Repairs Service
They also carry out minor small repairs such as putting up curtains, dripping taps etc for elderly residents. Again, information on the service can be obtained from Papworth on 01277 225352.
